Reconstructing the Aviary
The aviary is an artifact of the demise of a highly compartmented program possibly involving alien intelligence. The aviary may have been an ad hoc safety valve enabling a minimal self-debriefing of the various compartments once the central authority became dormant. R. performs several functions. He is batting in the cleanup spot, making sure that the unavoidable leaks do not create any lasting problems for the government. There may also be a moth balling function in the event of a possible reactivation of the underlying program.
I am part of the public collection detail, helping to assess the overall leakage to the public sector. But there is also a salvaging or reconstruction opportunity that complements the dismantling or deconstruction task of R. I am entrusted with the unclassifiable souvenirs, to make of them what I will. Our two jobs conflict, but in the interest of containment we operate in the same compartment.
Debunking and deconstruction are approximate synonyms here. The zeroth debunk is to explain the aviary as an acute case of viral insanity. The next debunk is to add small elements of tactical foreign and domestic counterintelligence. The second approximation for deconstruction purposes is to add an element of grand strategic deception. But this is now becoming a witches brew.
Whatever it was got out of control. How do you put the toothpaste back in the tube? We have a level 4 virus that has escaped and can travel at the speed of light with a latency period that can last for generations. This is not a pretty picture especially for a modern secular, and would-be democratic society.
If there is no reality behind the aviary/ufo phenomenon, then one might hope that our modern technocratic society will survive the viral insanity and in the process acquire a rudimentary immune system that would be valuable in future generations. We just watch the fever burn itself out, hoping that the enemies of democracy do not exploit this nearly fatal weakness. On the other hand...we reach for the fire extinguisher, only to find a little black bible behind the glass. This is an even less pretty sight to modern eyes. But even if you took all the religious leaders and put them end to end, what new tricks are you going to teach them? What new tricks are they constitutionally capable of assimilating in anything approximating real time.
This is when people start taking a second look at the aquariums of the world. And just how many are there, and who will decide the pecking order? But perhaps this has something to do with the reconstitution of the aviary toward serving its undefined agenda, and so the circle is already unbroken.
