Introduction -- Cosmology diagrams and texts
Here are an initial set of Cosmology diagrams -- click on the image to see the full view.
These diagrams describe an immaterialist cosmology. The first three are adapted from an informal paper that was presented at the 1983 Cosmos and Creation Seminar in Baltimore. It is with some trepidation that I reproduce them here.
My concern centers on the eschatological dualism they portray. The eschaton is marked by a separation between two major segments of humanity. At first blush, this vision appears more in accord with a fundamentalist apocalypse than with any New Age vision of harmony. The logistics of this separation augur to be the most traumatic aspect of the eschatological process. Much mischief ensues whenever there are sides to be exploited. The least enlightened on each side will see evil in the other.
Having said this, one can then progress to a larger understanding of the process of separation, including an appreciation of its significance and necessity.
The ebb and flow of cosmogenesis occurs largely through the segregation and reintegration of various polarities as in the dynamics of yin and yang. These processes could be measured abstractly using the concepts of entropy. It is in the Christ event that these tensions and dynamics are given their most concise expression in human history. He was at the center of everything. The aquarium aims to be at the center of the eschaton, directing traffic as it were.
